SkinCare For Winter Weather

It Starts….

Why? Why don’t you love me Winter?!?! What did I ever do to you?

This, unsurprisingly, is a very frequent conversation between myself and Mother Nature, every winter in London. The weather changes and suddenly I find my skin is unhappy. There are sudden dry patches, moisture gets stripped from my lips quickly, my skin looks a little dull, my hands the same. I mean ….what just happened!!

Here are my favourite products  I use to combat the harshness of winter!

Here We Go!

I always start the day with Garnier Pure Active Anti-Blackhead Deep Pore Wash (£2.99).  It cleanses, unclogs pores and clear impurities. Everything I need in this little baby! As I have combination skin, something that helps to control excess surface sebum is perfect. I usually pair this up with Clarsonic’s Mia 2 for that extra bit of a kick (removes 6 times more makeup, dirt and sebum), using the sensitive brush head.

Face masks are a feature in my cleansing routine and I alternate between Peter Thomas Roth’s Irish Moor Mud Mask (£32.95.) and Voya’s Get Glowing Illuminating Clay Mask (£33.60). I’ve found that these products work well with my skin to draw out trapped impurities and toxins from clogged pores, reducing the appearance of enlarged pores.

I also use Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant (£7.50 for the trial size) as another deep exfoliation product. It’s a clear odourless liquid and it has 2% salicylic acid (BHA) and works on minimises and clearing your pores. (Always wear sunscreen after use). Once this routine is complete, I try to stay makeup free and simply apply Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Intensive Lip Repair Balm (£20) on my lips .

Please note: When using a BHA product make sure you use sunscreen during the day.

After the above, I dry off and apply Eau Thermale Avène Hydrance Optimale UV Rich (£14.50). I’ve been a fan of Avene’s for some time now. It has a delicate scent to it and moisturises lightly, like a dream. The SPF factor is a great addition as its extra protection.

To wrap up and unwind my day, after washing up and removing every last trace of my day lol, I moisturise with Avene Hydrance Optimal Light (£13.50) .

Have you tried any of these products? How was your experience? Let me know!

xoxo
