The 31-year-old ’12 Years A Slave’ actress spoke to the magazine about her incredible accolade and how her early thoughts on the definition of beauty was ‘light skin and flowing, straight hair’.

But she’s proud of her achievement, adding: [My mother] always said I was beautiful. And I finally believed her at some point.’
